For only $1 more per play, you can increase your Powerball winnings. Match 5 prizes double to $2 million, and other non-jackpot wins multiply up to 5x. Who says a dollar doesn't go far?
How does it work?
Each Powerball prize (except for the jackpot and the Match 5 prize) increases by 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x with Power Play. If you win a non-jackpot prize and you added Power Play for $1, you've automatically increased your prize.
The Power Play option. Bigger is definitely better!
Did you win? Drawing results for September 17, 2014
Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:59 p.m. Mountain Time. You have until 8:00 p.m. on draw days to purchase your Powerball tickets.
You may play the same set of numbers for up to 24 consecutive drawings.
For an additional $1 per play, Power Play doubles the Match 5 prize from $1 million to $2 million and increases other prizes according to the chart below. The Power Play number will be drawn separately, but at the same time as the winning numbers for every draw.
If you have a favorite set of numbers, complete a POWERBALL playslip and give it to your Lotto retailer.
Use a pen or pencil in any color other than red.
Select five numbers from 1 through 59 on the top panel of the playslip. Select one number from 1 through 35 (the Powerball) on the bottom panel.
Mark QUICK PICK if you want the computer to randomly pick some or all of the numbers for you. (SAVE TIME: If you want only QUICK PICK numbers, simply tell the clerk. You won't have to complete a playslip!)
You can purchase one, two, three, four, or five plays on a playslip. Each play is $3 when you add the Power Play option. If you don't want to increase your non-jackpot prize, each play will cost $2.
You can play the same set of numbers for up to 24 consecutive draws. If you want more than one draw, mark the number of draws you want in the DRAWS section of the playslip.
If you want to play POWER PLAY with POWERBALL for an additional $1 per play, you must select it on the POWER PLAY section of your playslip or tell the clerk before you buy your POWERBALL ticket. If you're purchasing more than one POWERBALL play and select the POWER PLAY option, that option will apply to all of your plays.
You may also make your selections using ePlayslip.
Reading your ticket
Look for the dollar amount you're playing on the ticket across from the word Total.
Your numbers appear above your ticket sales amount (the five white numbers printed in a row, followed by the specially) labeled Powerball number separated from the other numbers with a [-].
Next to Power Play Option, your ticket will either read YES or NO, depending on whether or not you added Power Play to your ticket.
The top of your ticket will show the start date and end date for which your ticket is eligible, and will say Ticket Valid for [X] drawings.

The fine print
The jackpot prize will be divided equally among multiple winning tickets.
The annuitized jackpot choice will be paid as an annuity of 30 payments over 29 years.
A cash option provides a lump-sum cash payment of approximately one-half the advertised jackpot amount.
The set prize amounts of $2,000,000 through $4 published here are based on the expected number of winners sharing the prize pool. In some cases these prizes may be paid on a pari-mutuel basis and will be lower than the published prize levels. Refer to the official game rules for an explanation of the pari-mutuel prize payment.
