The Lottery Commission.
Working for Montana. Working for you.
By law, Montana's Lottery Commission consists of five members appointed by the Governor. One of the five must have five years experience as a law enforcement officer, one must be an attorney, and one must be a certified public accountant. The Commission oversees the Lottery's operations, sets policy and determines the type and forms of Lottery games. The Governor also appoints a Director who administers the day-to-day operation of the Lottery.
Each commissioner is appointed to a four-year term, and the terms are staggered.
Three or more commissioners constitute a quorum to do business, and action may be taken by a majority of a quorum.

- Determines the price of each game and the number and size of prizes in that game
- Maximizes net revenue paid to the state
